We bring magic to the Christmas of thousands of children

On this festive season we deepen the spirit and spread sharing and solidarity values, bringing more magic to the Christmas of thousands of institutionalized children or those who live in fragile social and economic conditions.

Because the joy of Christmas gains another intensity with the smile of a child, we decided to spread smiles, providing moments of joy to thousands of children in the countries where PRIMAVERA is present, through the initiative "Um Brinquedo por um Sorriso” (a Toy for a Smile) and the allocation of monetary donations to charitable organizations working towards providing a better life for this population that suffers vulnerabilities at different levels.

1000 deprived children receive a dream Christmas gift

The Christmas of 1000 children supported by Cáritas Diocesiana Portuguesa (Portuguese Catholic Charity) will have another shine with the initiative "Um Brinquedo por um Sorriso” (A toy for a smile). This initiative, sponsored by PRIMAVERA’s community, offers Christmas gifts chosen by institutionalized children coming from economic contexts and difficult families.

This initiative began more than ten years ago, involving the whole PRIMAVERA community from employees, partners and customers, reaching thousands of children. In 2015, this cause will support children of the Cáritas Diocesana de Aveiro, Azores (Terceira Island), Algarve, Braga, Coimbra, Viana do Castelo, Viseu, Portalegre, Évora, Beja, Setúbal and Lisbon. Besides these entities, the initiative also supports other institutions such as Lar Berço das Necessidades (Viana do Castelo), CAT Rebelo Duarte in Vieira do Minho, Associação Raríssimas – Norte (Maia) and the Abrigo Infantil Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in Funchal Island (Madeira).

Since 2010 this initiative has been extended to 1,000 children each year, bringing the magic of Christmas to more than 5000 children ever since.

Monetary support to charities in various countries

With limited funds, an increasing number of children living vulnerabilities and shortcomings at different levels, the daily activity of non-profit institutions is often an exercise of complex management. We wanted to, in order to ease the difficulties encountered by certain institutions in the markets where PRIMAVERA operates, contribute to support ever more worthy and unprotected children. This year's donations will benefit the following institutions:

Associação Novo Futuro

The Associação Novo Futuro (New Future Association) was founded in Portugal in 1996 with the mission of supporting children and young people, preferably groups of siblings, who have been deprived of a safe home environment, providing them with a home, affection and education.
